The conversations were fairly straightforward and easy to follow. However, the overall process felt disorganized and raised a few concerns. For one of my interviews, I had provided my availability well in advance but didn't receive confirmation from HR until the morning of the interview - just hours before the scheduled time.
The stakeholder interviews were very disrespectful and uncomfortable as well. The tone was tense and not at all conversational. Interviewers seemed disengaged, often looking at other screens and possibly responding to messages during our discussion. Their questions came across as skeptical, as if they were trying to find reasons not to move forward, rather than assessing my qualifications or fit for the role.

Interview
Pleasant. Nothing difficult but complete waste of time.
Ghosted after interview. When someone takes the time to go through the interview process they deserve some sort of closure. It is extremely rude and unappreciative to waste the candidate’s time with uncertainty. A simple thank you but we have chosen another candidate requires minimal effort. A candidate, who has invested time in the interview process, should not have to search the internet to find out a job has been filled.
Interviews take time and energy for both the company and the candidate. A company that cares about people communicates well not only when scheduling interviews, but also when they’ve decided to end the recruitment process. Keep in mind candidates could have been customers but won’t be any longer. One is also left to wonder if prospective employees are treated in this fashion how haphazardly are people treated after they have accepted employment offers.
Why a company, such as Scott's, would want to put their corporate image at risk and engage in such rude, dismissive behavior is a mystery. The bottom line is the behavior is lazy and inconsiderate.
