Interview
Very long written application addressing selection criteria. This is marked on a points system. Then interviews are granted with panel interviews of 3 staff plus 1 scribe. From their total points are awarded. There is one staff member who chooses who gets interviewed and awards points on their own interpretation of the Q&A, so there is alot of room for more points to be awarded to favoured applicants. The panel interviews also generally make their mind up who they want prior to the interviews actually happening so it is often jumping through hoops for the sake of it. A gossip culture means that often the person earmarked for the job is wellknown by other staff prior to interviews, further adding to low morale and 'why bother' feelings.
