If you apply for one position but they have opening in some other similar position, they may call you to see if you are okay to proceed to the other position. In the job application process, there is an assessment test you need to take and you need to make sure you answer as accurate as possible and get the best score possible because they would look to see if you passed the test or not so they decide to call you at all or not.

I was contacted very soon after I submitted my resume - approx 2 days. I was called in for an interview within the week, and met with a department manager and a senior manager. Both were very pleasant and not intimidating. Made me feel like a part of the team even before I was hired!
