An independent recruiter from SA found me on LinkedIn, she was lovely and very communicative. The CMO kept switching the interview dates and times 1st it was in person then 3 weeks later a Zoom. He's been there a year, a failed wanna-be tech bro, and still hasn't redone the site and told me he doesn't micromanage and asked if I knew people to hire right away. I spoke to a Sales guy who was great and a content writer. The sales guy asked me why I wanted to work there and the content writer kept saying he'd get in trouble if he didn't get through all the questions from the CMO, obv he lied and is a micromanager. For my last assignment/in-person interview the CMO, T, gave me a one-page document with 10 Figma screens and wanted me to come up with messaging for their service. The new site Figma's looked the same messy and wordy, a site review would take hours and he wanted me to come up with messaging?! He obviously was using me to get free work which led me to look into the co more.
The reviews on here aren't good and it's the 1st time I've seen reviews about them being racists, very disturbing. The independent recruiter confirmed HR is run by the owner's wife, a quick check of her socials reveals that she only has white friends except for one pic of her black nanny, never met her but why cover that up it's a family-run co? Their corp pics are super old as are the videos on the site etc. Doubt the NPS score is consistent, may have hit 62 once, they don't change any info to be current.
Their revenue is about 70 million their next competitor makes more than double with only 100 more people, there's no innovation at all. The startups in the space will shrink their revenues even more. As soon as I questioned the one-page doc the CMO told the recruiter to say thank you for her time and canceled the last in-person meeting. They're not planning to hire anyone, the salary was low, and they mostly hire abroad. I'd stay far away from this co unless you really need a job,
