- 30 minutes, 10 minutes spent on job descriptions, the rest on basic interview questions - important to connect to member priorities - conducted online which was more difficult - received request for interview just two days before
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Senate (Washington, DC) in Sept 2014
Interview
Total process took about 3 weeks. First round with Legislative director, second with Chief of Staff. Third with Senator. The questions were a little tough-- suggest policy options that would solve issues between Ds and Rs; what are issues back in Senators home state that need to be addressed/helped by your role etc. interviews were a little intimidating.

How do you deal with a boss that does not agree with you
There were two interviews. They mostly ask about your background and why you are interested in the job. They want to know what your future career plans are and why you want to intern at the Senate.
