      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Send (United Kingdom) (London, England) in Mar 2026

      Interview

I had a very positive interview experience overall. The entire process was well-structured, efficient, and completed within two weeks, after which I received and accepted the offer. The process included: * Initial HR screening – A friendly introduction covering background, role expectations, and general fit. * Technical & cultural round – With a Support Manager and Lead Developer, focusing on experience and how I approach problem-solving. * Deep technical round – This was the most challenging and interesting stage, covering Java, Spring, microservices, and databases (MySQL). There were also scenario-based questions, such as handling concurrent reads/writes on the same database and ensuring data consistency. * Managerial round – Focused on understanding the nature of the work, team expectations, and how my experience aligns with their needs. * Final round with Co-founder – A great two-way conversation, more like a discussion than an interview. Very engaging and insightful. Overall, the interviewers were knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely interested in understanding both technical depth and cultural fit. The process was smooth, transparent, and moved quickly.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Send (United Kingdom) (London, England) in Aug 2025

      Interview

Stage 1 - Introductory Call Stage 2 - Interview with engineering team member. Stage 3 - Technical interview Stage 4 – Interview with principal engineer Stage 5 - Call with a founder Agism on the highest level! The requirements: - Strong experience in Java development, particularly in backend web applications. (I have 15+ years), - Proficiency with Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA, and Hibernate. (I have 8 years or something.) - Experience working with relational databases (Always worked with it, multiple vendors). - Knowledge of microservices architecture and best practices. (I have several years of proof of designing complex microservices architecture) - Solid understanding of software development best practices, including unit testing and code quality. (I am championing TDD and code quality checks for years now.) - A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a pragmatic approach to development. (I have plenty of examples of it.) - Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in a remote-first environment. (This is my strong point) - Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. (I've been doing this for years now.) And the response: "move forward with candidates whose experience more closely matches the requirements of this role" This is practically impossible. I ticked all the boxes, I used AI for tailoring my CV to this role. I cannot thing anything else, just I have "too much" experience, which means, I am old. Yeah, I am way over my 20's.
