I never write these, but I had to after this experience (or lack thereof). One of their corporate recruiters reached out to me on LinkedIn to chat, and I responded right away because I was interested in learning more. TL;DR — rude and bad candidate experience for a recruiter role… by a recruiter.
My interview was at the begining of March and I still haven’t received an update on my application, despite being told that the hiring manager and recruiter would review applicants and get back to me by that week.
As a recruiter myself, I know how important it is to build rapport, even with something as simple as, "How was your weekend?" But this recruiter skipped all of that and jumped right in, prefacing it with how "busy she was" (girl, we’re all busy).
From the start, she seemed confused by my answers, and instead of politely digging deeper, she was rude and disengaged. At that point, I knew I wasn’t getting the opportunity.
To be honest, I didn’t get the sense the role was for me anyway. But I also understand the importance of a good candidate experience, and I would have preferred a straightforward “no” rather than being left in the dark.
If this is how they treat recruiter candidates, I can only imagine how they treat others. For a company that prides itself on its "values," it's shocking that this is how they handle their hiring process.
