      Technical Support Engineer Interview

      27 June 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Newark, DE
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SevOne (Newark, DE) in Aug 2021

      Interview

I was being considered for a 3rd shift support position shortly after they were acquired by IBM. After six interviews which included a 90 minute Unix lab they were still undecided. They then scheduled me for a SEVENTH interview which I bombed and was subsequently passed over. The process was so ridiculous it is now amusing thinking back about it. It was also exhausting and demoralizing. I got the impression that it was a game of hot potato among the hiring management, no one wanted to own any decisions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Unix, general technology and vanilla technical service questions. (asked repeatedly over weeks of interviews)
