Thank you for providing feedback on your interview experience with Shalom Park. We’re sorry it wasn’t super positive for you. As you probably understand, we receive many applications but can only hire one candidate. We wouldn’t want to waste your time bringing you in for an interview if we are able to determine during the phone screen that you were not a top candidate for the position. It sounds like our recruiter was able to determine that you had at least the minimum education required but opted to consider other more qualified candidates with long-term care experience (i.e., in a nursing home). The job advertised is accurate.
You shared an interview question regarding the Manager on Duty requirement. As this is a leadership position, we do ask our leaders to support occasional weekend and holiday coverage while the rest of our team takes the day off. It is a program that helps support our staff and elders in a meaningful way.
It is correct that social work team members do support one another during vacations and other days off. In a nursing home, the elders require 24/7 support all year round, which means that our staff must take care of them regardless of time off scenarios.
We wish you the very best in finding the right job for you.
