Had a 30 minute interview (set up via career fair with my University) with the manager of pharmacy recruiting in the New England area. I did not like her vibe from the very beginning. Before going into it I was told that Shaw's is all about corporate, corporate, corporate. This is exactly what the interview felt like, but on steroids. She was intense and her corporate message came across: they only reimburse you over 60 miles if you travel, if you have to stay in a hotel, they do not cover that fee. They train you for one week in a class room setting and then one week with an actual pharmacist. They expect you to know everything right away, increase sales, increase sales. how are you going to increase sales???? This IS Shaw's reputation. Sad. Maybe if they actually cared more about patient outcomes and less about numbers, they would be a growing, innovative company like their competitors Walgreens and CVS. I did not feel welcomed in this interview at all, I felt like a statistic. You couldn't pay me enough to work for someone like her. I am sure not everyone at Shaw's Osco is like that, but I guess I'll never know.
