Howdy, Thanks for taking the time to review us on Glassdoor. I hope that people can see that we really are interested in everyone that applies here. I wish you the best. Andrew Kordek Co-Founder

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Shift Paradigm (Austin, TX)

      Interview

They have a "top down" interview style. The co-founder interviews you first, followed two other managers down the food chain. Total of 3 detailed interviews with 3 different people and an excel assignment which takes 2-4 hours to complete (and none of these steps means that you're any closer to getting the job). The one negative review posted earlier on glass door seems to be closer to reality than all the other "bubbly" (clearly the boss told them to give the company a good review here) reviews. They'll say things like "this isn't your regular 9-5", which is code for i'll pay you for 40 hours a week but work you 60 hours. Imagine a company that interviews you 3 times, over 3 weeks, with 3 managers, gives you a detailed excel assignment, and then guarantees that they'll get in touch with the "outcome" of the interview, and then get in touch. My disliking for this company doesn't stem from how much time I put into the interview process but the lack of courtesy they showed. Don't act like you are a small company that really cares for their employees, asks interviewees to dedicate a lot of time, and then just walk away without even a casual "we hope you find employment elsewhere" email. They are paying 35K to managers (as indicated on glass door). Medical companies in Austin are paying 30K plus commission to cold call people and sell products (I got 2 offers for such jobs but turned them down). I put in the time and found a job where I am a great fit, but this company really needs to figure out their courtesy policy.

      Question 1

They say all the right things but at the same time you sense they aren't being genuine at all.

Hi, First and foremost, I want to thank you for writing up a review on your interview experience with us, it means a lot. While I don't know who you are or your exact experience with us, allow me to say that this feedback is something that we take seriously. To that end, I would like to address a few points you made in your review that might clear things up. Yes...we have a top down interview process here. It has worked for over 8 years and despite us being at 87 people, I (Andrew Kordek) still do all of the initial interviews. I think your comment on the one negative review being more accurate is simply not true and is a big assumption on your part. That review was done by an employee and not an interviewee, so it would really hard to make that assumption since we were not able to hire you. As far as the other "bubbly" reviews, I can tell you that those are unsolicited. Our average employee's workload varies from week to week, but I can guarantee you that no one works 60 hrs as an average and we have the data via our project management system to prove it. I am sorry to tell you that your supposition of the hours is simply untrue. While I would love to address your salary comment, I simply cannot but can assure you once again that what you wrote is simply not the case. Again...having access to the financials, I have the data to prove it. That said...your experience with us and your comment around our "courtesy policy" hits hard and it will be something that I will investigate. We want everyone who applies to Trendline to have an optimal experience and it sounds like that didn't happen. For that, I am sorry and hope that my response to your experience closes the loop on your experience with us. If it didn't, I am always willing to discuss further if you want to email me. If you saved your correspondence with us please reach out to me directly. If not, you can reach me at engage@trendlineinteractive.com Andrew Kordek - Co-Founder.
