      I interviewed at Shindig Company

      Interview

If Shindig is a circus, then the guy who runs it is the head ringmaster. The interview process actually went quickly. Didn't take long at all to get a call and schedule the interview. The actual interview however with the CEO was just bizarre. Came in to talk with him and he immediately seemed off. Questions were all over the place along with looooong pauses in between where he generally seemed to be confused as to why I was there. At one point he asked what role did I come in to interview for? It was complete turdshow. Judging from the reviews, this company seems to have a pretty good product but will NEVER go anywhere because the guy running it is disorganized, incompetent, and doesn't have the slightest idea how to build the business. It showed in the interview.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Shindig Company (New York, NY) in June 2020

      Interview

I had 2 interviews with the CEO. The first went very well. The 2nd interview included his Managing Director. The CEO was really strange on the 2nd interview, which he insisted be on a Saturday morning! I asked him a question and he didn't answer it. I thought he was odd and passive aggressive. I did not get an offer and I definitely dodged a bullet.

      Question 1

He asked me about my current role. He asked me about my contacts.

      Interview

Truly bizarre interview. I actually wondered if the guy was high. He asked a lot of proprietary questions about the tech at the company where I work currently and dodged any questions I had about him or his company that were intended to help me better understand the position. Then, without asking what kind of connections I had, he said the only reason he wanted to talk to me was because he thought I had more connections. Complete waste of my time--if he specifically is only hiring people connected to X, then this could have easily been asked on a quick phone call to save us both time. Just a truly bizarre experience. I agree with another poster that the CEO really didn't seem to understand why either one of us was there. Plus not a single person in the office was smiling. That's a huge red flag for me.

"Plus not a single person in the office was smiling" But previous comments says "The employees seemed friendly and genuine" Well, that's wierd. Could we talk in any anonymous chat? I just want to undestand if its written by the real people, or...
