I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Shinhan Financial Group (New York, NY) in Apr 2008
Interview
Process:
Emailed HR for consideration
phone interview with the HR
Office visit and meet with the VP and the CEO
Interview Questions:
Mostly behavioral, some finance related questions (i.e. markets, current events)
the VP was obsessed with accounting related questions
Tips:
Since they are lacking of talented people, as long as you can prove yourself smart getting an offer will not be a big deal.
However, the offer could suck, you will have to persuade them that you are capable. These people would pretend to not realizing the living cost of the city, so you will have to cry hard to make it happen.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you think the major reason for the economic crisis, and how that would affect the local banks?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shinhan Financial Group (Seoul) in Nov 2009
Interview
I felt that the commercial banks are very focusing on loyalty, especially for MBA grad students. First of all they asked about the reason why you quit your previous job and why entered to the MBA program. Also they asked, “What do you learn from your academic institute?” The first round interview was less tough than second round. However there were not many questions to push interviewee and see how we react. There were more practical questions such as financial knowledge, company development strategy and etc. Of course, you’d better to prepare great motivations to persuade them.
