      Marketing Interview

      6 Feb 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shutterstock

      Interview

First of all, thank you for making me feel like an idiot who was the only person serious for this opportunity. The whole interview process has taken around 3 months, from the initial phone screening to the several online interviews. I have proceeded to the final interview after almost 2 months of the interview succession. The employers, interviewers and I, all have taken so much of their time for this interview process. However, at the end, it turned out that I was the only person serious for this interview or position. There was no reply after the final interview. I had followed up a few times, but nothing. Already several months have passed, so I do not expect any more (or, please do not even try to respond to me, please). I am not sure whom they are thinking to be, but they have behaved in a very rude way, and I do not recommend this company to any one. I am looking forward to seeing how long they could survive. Thank you.

      Marketing Interview

      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Shutterstock (New York, NY)

      Interview

The interview process was very straight-forward and lasted about 4 weeks. I first had a call with the recruiter - she set expectations and kept me updated every step of the way. Then, it was a mix of interviews over Google hangouts and in-person with the team. Everyone I met with was organized and on time. Questions were challenging but not too difficult. Overall, my interview experience at Shutterstock went very smoothly.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shutterstock

      Interview

I was reached out by recruiter on LinkedIn, followed by phone interview with recruiter and then phone interview with hiring manager. The recruiter was unable to answer very basic questions regarding the key responsibilities of the role and came off as very unprofessional. I left the conversation not understanding what role they were reaching out about. The hiring manager came to the interview 15 minutes late, rushed through the interview and was unable to communicate exactly what the role would entail and an ideal candidate profile. I was also not provided any information on next steps, even after following up by email with hiring manager and recruiter. After 3 weeks, I still have not been updated. I'm assuming they've moved along with the process, but it's very unprofessional to not respond or keep candidates guessing if the process is over.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and why you want this role? This was difficult to answer, consider I was never told which role exactly I was interviewing for.
