I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Side (France)
Interview
So many subtle red flags and bigger red flags. I wanted to dip out after the first call but stayed in case I was wrong, and boy was I not wrong. Let's start with the smaller ones:
- All three people I had interviews with were late for the call
- Conversations felt very one-sided as they ask you scripted questions but don't really take time or make efforts to make actual conversations.
- Interviewers somehow managed to make company seem super unattractive, overall mediocre vibes
- Company tries too hard to be relatable but the main values are kind of BS and vague (just like their salary range)
- Bad at handling feedback or just listening to the candidate (seriously, interviews are two way streets)
Now, the bigger red flags:
- Gives you a home assignment with a very tight deadline without even asking your availabilities beforehand (come on, the standard deadline is one week, 48 hours is just rude)
- Very assertive but ineffective communication, sometimes condescending
- Small details that reflect on the overall lack of respect for candidates
I'm sure it's not all bad, but I'm bailing out on this one...
