      Graphic Designer Interview

      9 July 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sign-Express (New York, NY)

      Interview

The process started with a friendly phone call to explain the company and position. I was asked to complete a personality and aptitude (pseudo-IQ) test, and then I was invited for an on-site interview. Upon arriving, the receptionist was away, and the hiring manager was in a meeting. During the interview itself, I was shown my results of the aptitude test (which estimated my iq) along with some of the results of other employee's tests. Inappropriate jokes were made to explain sales, and the inviewer had a spat with his wife in the middle of the interview. The whole place felt very unprofessional. He's openly trying to replace his children's positions, because they dislike working there (his admission). The pay system is terrible and inconsistent. Avoid unless you're desperate and highly stress tolerant.
