Lead Frontend Engineer (JavaScript) (m/f/d) Interview

      1 Aug 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Munich, Bavaria
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Signavio (Munich, Bavaria) in July 2023

      Interview

I always held SAP for a higher standard employer but my experience turned out being the most disrespectful treatment I ever had. (Signavio now belongs to SAP). It all started with a HR screening and 2 weeks later with a interview with the hiring manager. So far so good, it proceeded with them handing me over a coding challenge which was a sort/filter a table of data in React. Not the most difficult one but it had some tricky points like handing number, strings and undefined values on the same column. It was a prepared exercise with functionality already done and only the exercise points missing. The project itself was a React javascript (who does React without Typescript in 2023?). I was given a week to complete and finished (pushed the changes) a day before the deadline. And this is when things started to go south. 5 days after submission (without any feedback) I sent the HR responsible an email. A week after and still without any feedback I asked one of the code reviewers about which then pushed the the HR to answer me. 11 days after the submission was the first time the HR got in contact with me, saying both reviewers had difference of opinions about my code and would still need another 3 to 4 days to give me a response. I waited, 3 days, 5 days, 10 days, and nothing. 21 days after the submission I sent another email asking what was going on? No company in the world needs that amount of time to review a code challenge. On the very next day he answered me, saying the headcount was closed and my application was dismissed. Extremely disrespectful with my time and effort added to the whole interview. Do yourself a favor and forget about them. If they handle things this way during your hiring process, imagine how things are when you actually join them.
