I applied online. I interviewed at Simms Showers (Leesburg, VA) in June 2022
Interview
15-minute phone interview followed by in-person interview. This was the most outrageously inappropriate interview imaginable. I was asked about my religious affiliations and the partner who interviewed me made multiple disparaging comments about non-evangelical Christians and non-Christians in general, including but not limited to "We even work with Universalists, which, you know, is difficult, because they believe everyone goes to heaven." When I asked in the phone interview what kinds of non-profits they work with, I was told it was mostly organizations to help the homeless and people in developing nations, but when I asked the Partner in the in-person interview, he mentioned "pro-life" and organizations. That was exactly what I wanted to know in the phone interview, because I would not have otherwise moved forward, but this information was kept from me. The first thing they said in the interview was that their mission is to incorporate Christ into Law. I was flabbergasted and felt I had been deceived about the nature of this job. I was also told that they offered bible studies at the office (although not mandatory), and had a pastor on staff for employees to talk to. They ended the interview on a prayer. I know several people who work for CHURCHES and did not end their interview on a prayer nor speak as extensively of religion. If you are looking for a job that incorporates Evangelical Christianity into your workplace environment then this is a great place for you. If you are liberal, or an atheist, agnostic, Muslim or Jewish person, or follow ANY religion outside of Christianity (not including the more "liberal" denominations of Christianity) then I encourage you to stay away.
