Interview
I had a great experience applying for the Fullstack Engineer role at Sitemate. The entire process was well-structured, transparent, and engaging. From the initial application to the technical assessments and interviews, the team provided clear communication and valuable insights at every stage. I especially appreciated how the process focused on real-world problem-solving and collaboration rather than just theoretical knowledge. It’s evident that Sitemate values both technical expertise and cultural alignment, making the experience not only smooth but also genuinely enjoyable. Regardless of the outcome, I truly appreciate the effort they put into making the hiring process a positive one. The whole interviewing process included 4 stages:
1. Resume Submission
2. 2 hours scheduled coding challenge
3. Pair programming and technical interview
4. Cultural Interview

Interview
Big-time timewasters. Super slow and lengthy phases. Interviewer was supposed to be an experienced engineer, but it was a grad who doesn't understanding anything about performance and just care about 'beautiful code'. I hope for them that they start hiring engineers that actually know how to write performing software, or they will soon face problems if they decide to scale up their software. And it was after 5 phases and hours and hours wasted with them. Every response took over a week to hear back.

Interview
The process was extremely clear from the first contact which is an online form. Then you receive an email where they outline the stages of the process and where you currently are. Following the online form there was a technical task, then 2 technical interviews with different team members, 1 cultural interview and some reference checks. You have the option to choose a date and time for each stage. During each stage task/interview, they describe what to expect and keep you updated with the process. The team was super nice and they listen to everything you have to say.
