The process took around four weeks. The recruiter was very prompt in scheduling the interviews and communicating next steps.
As much as Slalom boasts about its people culture, that was not reflected in the way they treated me and my candidacy. Before I started the interview process, I discussed my current salary with the recruiter and they were on board to move ahead. After several rounds of interview and onsite, I was hopeful of an offer considering the positive messages I received from the interviewers.
However, I was taken aback when the recruiter called to inform me that they were not moving forward. As much as I respect their process and decision, what upset me the most is the lack of transparency. The recruiter said the team loved me but they cannot move forward as they cannot match my pay. I was told that Slalom's offer will be significantly lower than what I am making today. However, they refused to state the number. I found this extremely unprofessional. If my salary bracket was high, why move forward with the interview process and waste my time? When I probed further, they gave me all sorts of lame excuses about my experiences which were (1) Absolutely false and (2) Was disrespectful to my current job and role
I am extremely unhappy with my experience and I will discourage my friends and colleagues from considering this place as a potential career opportunity.
