I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom in June 2022
Interview
Pros :
1) Friendly staff who were pleasant to talk to.
2) Staff seemed happy and satisfied with their work and continuously talked about Slalom’s people centric company culture which was nice to see.
Cons :
1) Very long and unstructured interview process. Lasted almost a month and involved 5-6 different calls up to 2nd stage which is practically unheard of. Other employers don’t waste your time and by 2nd or 1st stage let you know you’re not a suitable fit for a role.
2) Second stage interview was with a employee who
wasn’t involved in the actual division of the role advertised. The daily roles and responsibilities pertaining to the role discussed were very ambiguous. It’ll be a lot easier to just make the job description of the role more detailed, e.g. specific tech stack used/desired, domain experience that is desirable, actual example of day to day responsibilities, team members you’ll be working with (e.g. QA, Devs, Product Owner, etc.) and how your role interacts with them to bring about fulfilment of a task/requirement. With an ambiguous job description it’s nearly impossible to understand if a role is more technical/functional or a hybrid.
3) HR who seem fairly new don’t actually know roles and responsibilities for roles in certain capabilities in different geographical locations so it’s hard to gauge what are the exact requirements of a candidate they’re looking for. Lack of understanding of available roles in other capabilities and not understanding the requirements of available job roles means you’re left second guessing what is actually required from you as a candidate.

Question 1
What were your experiences working alone on a project with just clients and no company staff?
Recruiter screening focused on background and fit, followed by a hiring manager interview assessing technical and consulting skills, and a final director round evaluating strategic thinking, communication, and overall alignment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Santa Monica, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Initial HR interview then interview with hiring manager and then never heard again from the company. Reached out multiple times for follow up on whether moving forward or not, and never got a response. Job posting still on.
5 or 6 rounds, including a technical screening panel interview. Role-based questions and specific scenarios. Met with various practice leaders and engagement leads. The whole process took about 6 weeks.
