I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slim.AI (Boston, MA) in Apr 2020
Interview
Multiple thoughtful conversations with the CEO about culture, mission, vision, & values. Healthy negotiations on stage appropriate compensation. Good debates on how to achieve good, better, best results. Creativity and willingness to iterate were palpable. Strong morale fabric and desire to focus on results were clear. Partnership and support from investors seemed very solid.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slim.AI in July 2022
Interview
I did 6 interviews for the role, with marketing team members, the heads of Data/Analytics and Product, and finally the CEO. The whole process took less than 2 weeks. Interviews were friendly and casual, but most lasted an hour or more, talking in-depth into my past projects with several follow-up questions. Definitely not a process you can bluff your way through; I had to be extremely prepared. That said, they didn't give me a massive assignment to complete like other companies did, which I really appreciated. I also noticed during the process that everyone talked about creating a strong culture - and not in the cheesy, forced way that a lot of startups attempt. Since joining I can happily say they really walk the walk, people do feel valued and cohesive despite being fully remote, and their leave/flexitime policies are super generous.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked open-ended questions designed to suss out how you think about your role, how you strategize, and your data-savviness (STAR interview questions), such as how you've measured Product Marketing success in the past, what type of cross-functional projects you've had a hand in and what PMMs can bring to their stakeholders to influence strategy and increase value. Follow-through and ownership were emphasized, which makes sense, being an early-stage startup.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Slim.AI in Apr 2022
Interview
Do not interview with this company. They have NO problem stealing ideas & concepts that you pitch to them and refuse to compensate you when they are called out on them using them word for word. They conducted 4 interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked for creative pitches, concepts and marketing strategies. Which they then later stole without credit or compensation, despite the written feedback expressing how much they loved the ideas.
