I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Smartling (New York, NY) in July 2019
Interview
I interviewed with Smartling during a job fair. I walked up and the two engineers introduced themselves, then immediately started drilling me with technical questions. My guess is that they either were seeing how I handled the pressure of so many tech questions, or were filtering out options by how they answered these questions. This was my first technical interview so it didn't go well for me. It's a vulnerable feeling, but I can't blame them. It give me more to learn.

Question 1
What is a general expression? What is HTTP? Whats the difference between state and props in React? Why make state immutable and give me an example of when you did. Difference between map(), filter(), and reduce()? What is "this" in Javascript? What is recursion and give me an example of an application of recursion. What is the purpose of the React "key" keyword ? What is box sizing and border box?
Yikes! Our response is long overdue but as they say, better late than never. Job fairs aren’t easy for employers or applicants. It sounds like we could have been more welcoming in this situation. We hope you will consider Smartling in the future and thank you for sharing this feedback with us.
