I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Smiggle (Glasgow, Scotland) in June 2018
Interview
Was contacted by a member of Smiggle HR who asked to conduct a phone interview o. The spit, which lasted around half an hour. The questions were pretty simple - experience working with KPIs, experience minimising stock loss, etc.
Was told that I had passed the initial stage and asked to attend a face-to-face with the Area Manager the following week. We met in the Braehead store, with the Area Manager running about 20mins late, before being taken across to Costa for the interview itself. The interview consisted of similar questions to the initial phone interview, very focused on statistics and quite easy to answer if you know your figures, all in the interview lasted around an hour.
The issue for me came after this, I was initially told the interview had went well and Smiggle were genuinely interested, however I was left waiting for 3 weeks, being told whenever I made contact that I was "still in the running, but there were a final few candidates still to be interviewed" l. Finally I received a phonecall to say I hadn't been successful. When pressed for feedback I was told there was nothing negative they could say and that I was a great candidate, so I'm left awfully confused as to why I was unsuccessful and why I was made to wait three weeks to be told so?
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Give an example of a time you have driven KPIs/what KPIs do you have experience working with?
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Smiggle (London, England) in Jan 2018
Interview
2 steps of interview if it was through job agency. First over the phone with one of jab agent and if You pass this stage then You moving to meeting with Area Manager. Questions are standard for this step. They asking about your work experience and asking how You will solve some issues happening in your store. They will question your interest in Smiggle as well.
I was contacted by the smiggle recruiter first and had a phone interview with him for about 15/20 mins, at the end of which he said he liked my experiences and would set up an interview at the store.
I then received an email the same day with a date and time and it said I would be interviewing with the area manager.
On the day I went to the store, met the store manager and had a quick chat with her before she took me to a coffee shop where the area manager was waiting.
My interview with the AM lasted just over an hour and was a really comfortable chat. Lots of questions but it felt r ally comfortable and she even said that she just wanted to get to know me and see if I would be suitable for the store and whether I would even want to work for smiggle.
After that interview the day after I was contacted by the recruiter again and he asked how my interview went and what my thoughts were so far about the company and if I would like the role. After our chat he said the AM really liked me and wanted me to now go to the store for an hour to see what it's like and to meet the store manager.
I spent about 20 mins in the store, she showed me the different products and explain how the day went. She also showed me the stock room and explained all the different processes.
We then went to Starbucks and sat there for over an hour talking.
The next day I was contacted again by the recruiter and he asked how my day went and what I thought about everything.
