Interview
Came in person spoke with manager and got hired on the spot was a very nice and positive experience. I had previous server experience and I worked with restaurants under the same umbrella company so that also helps if you have prior experience
I interviewed at Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill (Kentucky, IL)
Interview
The interview process at Smokey Bones was actually really smooth and down-to-earth—which honestly made me even more excited about joining the team.
I first applied online and got a call back within a couple of days to schedule an in-person interview. When I arrived, the manager greeted me warmly and it felt more like a conversation than a typical Q&A. They asked about my previous experience, how I handle high-pressure situations, and what kind of work environment helps me thrive. I appreciated that they cared just as much about culture fit and personality as they did about technical skills.
There were also a couple of situational questions—like how I’d handle a customer complaint or juggle multiple tables at once—but nothing too intimidating. The vibe was chill but professional, and they made it clear they value teamwork and strong communication.
After the first interview, I got a quick follow-up to meet with another team member for a final chat. That second round was more about logistics—availability, training schedules, and what to expect during onboarding.
By the end of the week, I got the call offering me the job. I’m really looking forward to the energy of the place—it’s fast-paced but fun, and the team seems super supportive. Plus, the food smells amazing. 🔥
