      Operations Associate Interview

      8 July 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vancouver, BC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SnapMagic (Vancouver, BC) in July 2025

      Interview

Interview Process Was Excessive and Disrespectful of Time. I read a few negative reviews about this company’s hiring process but decided to give them a fair chance. While the role offered significantly less than what I typically earn, the job posting mentioned strong potential for growth. I was open to looking at the long-term opportunity. Unfortunately, the process was frustrating and ultimately a waste of time. After using the Easy Apply feature on Glassdoor, I received a lengthy pre-screen questionnaire to be filled out before my resume would be submitted. It took over an hour to complete and asked for exhaustive details about every job I’ve ever held, including supervisor names, titles, contact info, reasons for leaving, what I liked and didn’t like about each role, and how each supervisor would rate me. I also had to provide similarly detailed information about every school I attended and list any awards, even those unrelated to work. I have nearly 30 years of experience, and most of these questions felt unnecessary and excessive, especially for a relatively low-paying role. Still, I completed it professionally and submitted everything. Shortly after, I received an automated message explaining the next steps. The process would include two interviews, a personality test, a take-home assignment, and a final in-person interview. I scheduled the first interview, which wasn’t available for another week. Then, just two hours before the scheduled interview, I received a generic rejection email saying they were impressed with my skills but didn't feel it was the right fit. No feedback was offered. They simply cancelled the scheduled interview. I’m sharing this to help others make an informed decision before investing significant time. I understand companies want to screen carefully, but this process was unreasonable and ultimately felt disrespectful of applicants’ time. Based on my experience and similar reviews from others, I’d advise approaching this company with caution.

      Question 1

One of the prescreening questions to even submit my resume I had to provide exhaustive details about every single job I’ve ever held, including supervisor names, titles, contact info, reasons for leaving, what I liked and didn’t like about each role, and how each supervisor would rate me.
