      Third Party Relationship Manager Interview

      11 June 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Salt Lake City, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at SoFi (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2021

      Interview

I had six rounds of interviews starting with the recruiter and ending with the VP of Operations. The experience started off positively. The recruiter was super friendly and valued my time and expertise. My experience slowly turned negative with each subsequent interview. I found it odd that the interviewers ended our Zoom calls suddenly and unceremoniously as soon as we reached the thirty-minute mark--stating they had other meeting to attend. Oftentimes, they would disconnect the call while I was trying to say goodbye and thank them for their time. I honestly couldn't tell if they were being rude and were simply over the conversations, or if they were terrified at the prospect of being thirty seconds late to their next meeting. There were several weeks that lapsed between my fourth and fifth interviews. When following up with the recruiters I was told that the application was "in process." During my fifth interview, it was explained that they were rethinking the scope of this role and it had taken a few weeks to settle on the new job responsibilities. My sixth and final interview with the VP was scheduled shortly thereafter. Afterwards, I experienced weeks of silence. My calls and emails to the recruiting team were ignored, but eventually I received a generic, automated email stating they were moving forward with other candidates. After working with the company for almost three months, I was expecting at least a phone call (or even a personalized email).
