Constructive Professional Criticism;
I’ve been in AR/Revenue for almost 10 years with other tech companies. The job description said a bachelor’s degree is preferred. After I did my interview, which was really straightforward. The recruiter was professional but at the end of my interview, I was told a bachelor’s degree may be required. After someone from the company looked at my LinkedIn, which isn’t a very public profile but nonetheless, my photo is there and some small details. I then received an email from the recruiter that a bachelor’s degree is required…. weird and suspicious. This is such a ridiculous, antiquated ideology. Not only that, this position was offering $28k-$20k LESS than my previous position. So why, apply? Sometimes you take a financial hit for growth on a smaller, amateur accounting team. I say all of this to say, being in accounting is about being efficient, accurate, and transparent. This process was a total waste of time, therefore, lacking efficiency, and their job description was incorrect and not transparent at all. I never look at Glassdoor before applying to a job, I wish I did because Socure looks Soproblematic. I wish them well; this company could be so great. I guess..
