First round is with HR and hiring manager. Hiring manager asked basic prob / calc questions, and a Python problem; nothing hard. Liked him a lot. Then met with a member of a macro team, he was really cool we spoke about machine learning and some of his research and my research for like an hour and half. After that was a take home coding exam, nothing too bad.
Next was the super day, this is where HR failed because nothing was aligned. Met with like 6 people, of which 2 were people that weren’t on the list for the day and I had to head back to work so it took much longer than expected. First person gave me technical problems, second person more technical problems but nebulous ones related to assembly level coding which had nothing to do with the job. Third interview was with HR again, then fourth was with hiring manager, very behavioral, was calm and cool. I believe he liked me a lot since I aced all his technicals already. Fifth was with a macro person again, nothing hard, pure behavioral. The sixth was with the CTO which was surprising since I was already planning to leave and didn’t expect it. It went ok but I was rushing slightly because I had to be back at work.
Soros doesn’t respect your time, HR is poorly run, they do not respond to emails in timely manner, and the organization of the super day was terrible. Would not do the process again. Get an offer from another better fund.
