I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Austin, TX) in Aug 2024
Interview
There were four rounds. The first was a general HR screening call with some basic questions like why do you want to work at SpaceX. If you are who you say you are, you'll pass this one. The second round is a 4-hour programming test with one question. It takes candidates about 2 hours to complete it. It has automated tests, and if you pass all the tests, then you'll likely move on to the next interview. The third round was a 45 minute call with the hiring manager that included a few basic conceptual questions and an in-depth dive into a technical project you've seen to completion. As long as you know what you're talking about and are passionate about it, you'll likely pass this one. The fourth round was an on-site interview. This consisted of an hour-long presentation given by me to the team, a tour of the factory, lunch on-site, and four one-on-one interviews. The one-on-one interviews ranged from conceptual questions to talking more about your presentation to a coding question.

Question 1
Pretend I'm a non-engineer. Explain how something like an iPhone works from the basic building blocks all the way up through the memory organization and operating system interactions with the hardware. Be as specific as possible without using terms that non-computer engineers would not understand.
Phone screen with recruiter than 1 hour technical that’s not leetcode. It is similar to a real life problem you would encounter at SpaceX. Did not advance to final stage which would involve 4 rounds and a presentation on something you’ve worked on.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SpaceX (Bastrop, TX)
Interview
Very straight forward. Recruiter definitely did their research and looked at my resume. They asked about previous company work rather than projects from college. It was a phone call screening.

Question 1
They asked me what I did at a company that I was currently working on.
HR kept on scheduling me for interviews without notifying me. I would get calls to my surprise in the middle of the workday. She then ghosted me. I found this to be very unprofessional especially for SpaceX.
