They are usually looking for people with only a little experience so don't over sell yourself. They also interview you with a panel of people (city engineer, city manager, other engineers, surveyers, etc...) So be prepared for questions coming from all directions. They usually post openings in the office and on their website. The best way to get in is to make personal contact with one of the engineers or someone in management.
