      Full Stack Software Engineer Interview

      24 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Spanning (Austin, TX) in Feb 2016

      Interview

i was asked to come in for an on-site interview after applying online and doing a phone screen. Everything went well and so I was asked to do a take-home assignment which amounted to writing a small web application. I did so according to spec and even surpassed the requirements by using their tech stack and writing tests for 100% code coverage. I submitted this in a timely manner and received acknowledgement that it would be evaluated by their engineering team. Days went by and I checked in via email and with a handwritten thank you card addressed to my interviewer for having considered me, but I never got a response thereafter, not even to merely say that I was rejected or passed over for someone else.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me to draw on a white board the architecture of an application from the user interface to the server and database.
