      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sparro (Sydney) in June 2021

      Interview

I reached out online and was contacted the same day by Sparro's recruiting partner. I had a phone interview with her, then she organised an interview with the internal Sparro team. She also gave me a pre-determined task to simulate the kind of work I could do at Sparro. The turnaround time was relatively short as I was allowed just the weekend to do it. A few days later, I had a remote call (due to lockdowns) with a senior member of staff and a junior-mid member of staff. I went over the presentation I had prepared for the task, asked a few questions about Sparro, and was asked to come for an in-person interview. In my in-person interview, I met with two senior members of staff including one of the founders. They asked me complex questions about my work history, experience, ambitions, challenges, and goals for the future. At the end of this meeting, I was offered the position.

      Interview

3 Interview stages with a take home assessment; you’ll start with a screening phone interview with the recruiter, and then you’ll meet the hiring team for the second interview, and they’ll give you a take home assessment to complete. If you made it to the final round, you’ll have a chat with the founder and one of the senior leadership member. Overall, my experience was really positive. The team was very nice and accommodating. They weren’t just trying to assess whether you’re a good fit for them but also whether they’re a good fit for you. They really came across as a bunch of passionate and talented people, all positive vibes! Unfortunately, I was unable to accept the offer due to unforeseen circumstances within my current role at the time. A year later, I reached out to the team again to see whether an opportunity is available for me. They were very lovely and accommodating about it. They scheduled a quick catch up and really tried to understand if there’s a suitable role that fits me. I’ve never had such a pleasant experience in any interviews before. I strongly think that the team is really thoughtful and that they truly care about you as a person. I can’t speak highly enough on Sparro!
