      Business Development Executive Interview

      4 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Nashville, TN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Speak Creative (Nashville, TN) in Feb 2026

      Interview

I had 4 interviews and 3 reference checks over the span of 6+ weeks. Was told that after all of my interviews and after they had spoken with all of my references, I should receive an answer that Friday. I was told that on Wednesday of that week. That Friday, I received a follow-up email telling me they needed a few more days before making a decision, and I should hear from the following Monday or Tuesday. I did not hear back from them until the following Thursday, mind you, that was after I followed up multiple times and heard nothing back after having fairly steady communication. I was told that they had decided to close hiring for the position due to a reorg that was going to take place. They offered me the opportunity to re-enter the interview process at a later date once the position reopened. I declined. I would caution any applicant to be very careful when applying as management is clearly not on the same page, and I was led to believe I would be offered the position only to be strung along for weeks, which is incredibly frustrating, disheartening, and honestly embarrassing. This could be a great company, so I won't pass any opinion on that, but the interview process as a whole felt incredibly unorganized and flat-out made up now that I look back on it. Each experience is, of course, different, so do take mine with a grain of salt, but be aware of red flags. I would personally not want what happened to me to occur with anyone else, so do be aware. They will ask a lot of your time. Push for a timeline and a firm date. I did try this, but they always had a reason for a setback until I was told there was no job at all. I may not have been the right fit at the end of the day; there are always plenty of factors, but please do be careful and don't let them waste your time! Hopefully, the reorg works for their sake.
