I applied online. I interviewed at Sporty Group in Nov 2025
Interview
I applied online, I was contacted by the recruiter in a week or so. General screening round, pleasant recruiter talk. If you get through, you will be sent a take home assignment that's related to the role. The communication regarding the process was all over the place, it took 1.5 months just to send the assignment to me and another month to get any feedback.
The team that was interested in hiring me has filled their position while I was working on the assignment. I was told other teams would consider me (maybe they did), but after another month I received the usual rejection email without any feedback about the project.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Sporty Group (London, England)
Interview
Started with a HR interview, talking about experience.
Then had a home assignment interview. After passing this, there is one hour interview based on experience questions and also some implementation problems ideas.
I did not pass this stage after positive feedback, no explanation why, just corporate basic information as usual.
The big problem on the technical interview is that some of the interviewers are not capable to speak understandable english, so is really hard to know what they require from you.
In rest, it was an okaysh interview process, but too long and unnecessary.

Question 1
Experience, project related questions (Java, Mysql, spring, kafka, redis)
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sporty Group in Nov 2024
Interview
The process begins with three challenges hosted on the HackerRank platform, which you have two hours to complete. These challenges are not very difficult, ranging from easy to medium in difficulty.
After completing the challenges, there is an interview with the human resources team. In my case, I spoke with James, who was incredibly friendly, fun, and always willing to help. One of the best interviewers I’ve ever encountered. In this interview, they introduce the company, the project, and the role you would be working on. You also discuss your experience and the projects you’ve been involved in.
Next, I had another meeting with human resources, where they provided more details about the next interview. The following interview is divided into three phases, each focusing on a different topic. It lasts about two hours and thirty minutes, with various interviewers joining and leaving during the session.
Everyone I met throughout the process was friendly and approachable. I highly recommend going through this process, even if you are not selected. At the end, they provide useful tips on how you can improve, making it a valuable learning experience.
