The first interview was a phone screen that focused on technical questions. After the phone screen, I was brought in for an in-person interview with the manager of the team and one of the other engineers. They asked a number of questions covering both technical as well as "culture" topics.
The latter part of the in-person interview was reserved for me to ask questions about the company, the position, and anything else I could think of. We talked about opportunities for advancement and professional development, and I got a chance to ask them to tell me more about their technology stack. A few of the tools listed on the job description were new to me, and it was nice to hear their plans for new technologies vs simply reading documentation about them.
The whole process took barely over a week from scheduling the phone screen to the offer. I am unsure whether this is because I went through a recruiter, because SVG is looking to grow rapidly, or if they just like to move fast. It is likely a combination of all three.
After the in-person interview, I was given a short tour through the office before I handed in my visitor badge and left.
The whole experience was quite positive, and I look forward to working there!
