I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Standard Chartered Bank (Shanghai, Shanghai) in Aug 2021
Interview
I was initially recruited by a headhunter, which led to a phone interview with HR. Following that, I discussed my previous work experience with the line manager during a Zoom call. There was no written test involved in the process. Throughout the experience, I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. Overall, the entire hiring process took less than a month, which I found to be quite efficient and well-organized.
The interview process consisted of three rounds, with two interviewers in each round. Candidates had the option to choose between in-person and virtual interviews. Each round focused on a mix of technical questions, deal experience discussions, and behavioral assessment.

Interview
Teams meeting for each round with the hiring managers were setup by HR personnel based offshore who was quick to respond via email. Interviews were conducted efficiently and to the point.
I applied online. I interviewed at Standard Chartered Bank (Sydney) in Sept 2025
Interview
First round with the Hiring Manager & team, mostly about experience in relationship management. Second round with senior bankers from other product areas, essentially the same interview as the previous round. Third round with the Head of Department and HR, again an unstructured conversation with some Q&A. They ended up with an internal candidate after all this.

Was asked why I left one bank for another - never had that one before or since.
