I applied online. I interviewed at Standard in July 2023
Interview
This company is a mystery. You won't find much about them online, and even after talking to them you won't know much more. It seems to me that they do not know exactly what they want, nor where they are going. I still don't understand why they want a design system when they have a super small design team and no developers to work on it. The people who interviewed me were nice, but they spent too much time on questions like 'where do you see yourself in 2 years' or 'who is your favorite designer'... I thought those questions were buried in the past, where they belong. No one tells you in advance how long the process will take and what the steps are. When you try to contact HR to see where you are they will ghost you. In the end, the whole experience took an unacceptably long time, and I lost all interest in the job.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Standard (New York, NY) in Oct 2019
Interview
This place has the communication skills of a high school teenager. Constant ghosting during the interview process, no idea where you’re at or what else there is to do. Everyone I talked to would also say things they seemed to think were positives but were actually negatives from a new employees perspective - very little self awareness of the kind of people who would want to work there. I got the impression they’re going to sell this thing the minute it’s profitable and all the creators and employees will be out of luck. Also there is no interesting tech going on there, it’s just a zype frontend and some other SEO stuff
