      Director Interview

      11 June 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Staples in May 2024

      Interview

Took 2 weeks to get this booked, the call only lasted 25-ish minutes. Screener seemed more interested in 'having a conversation' than digging into the nuts and bolts of the role, but the call was pleasant - we managed to talk about my background and skills. BUT, my biggest pet peeve in the world. THEY GHOSTED ME. I dont care if I am not the right fit, although in this case, I challenge how they could possibly know. It's a simple process gang. You interview with someone 'live', then you owe them a response. Instead, they've earned this review. And WoM travels.

      Director Interview

      12 July 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer

      Application

      I interviewed at Staples

      Interview

Was invited in to Framingham HQ to meet with several people for interviews. Everyone was pretty much on time, was prepared, and was very professional except for one. Unfortunately, it was the first person who interviewed me, and it set me up to have to try to like the place after that. I nearly got up and left the interview because of how I was being talked down to and demeaned by the interviewer. I asked some conversation starting questions since we were having lunch, and the interviewer answered with "yes", "no", "it depends." Then said, "Sorry, I'm just answering like you've asked the question. Maybe you'd like to try asking it again." We were having a casual conversation over lunch for crying out loud! Then I was asked, "Why do you think I say "it depends"?" I answered, and was told, "no, that's not why...why do you think I say "it depends"?" Oh brother. I'm not there to be treated like a child.
