Initially, I was incredibly eager to be interviewing with Starlite. The woman I spoke with in HR over the phone seemed kind, and genuine. However, once there, I felt like what she was expecting vs what she saw are completely different (I have the same name as someone who works in marketing in a different field.). Visibly disappointed, I sat through her telling me, this company was not a right fit for me. Despite my having production, and even logistical experience in this exact industry. I showed her my portfolio and handed her a list of references from previous companies I had done marketing/social media management for. When it came to discussing where I received my college degree she claimed to have never heard of the school I went to and continued to tell me I wasn't even ready for their expectations, and that I had no experience with a company of this size. By this point a gentleman came in to also interview me, failing to introduce himself, but he was rather pleasant. When leaving the interview, since my car was in the shop at that time, I waited TWO MINUTES for an uber, this woman, comes out of the main entrance and tells me because I didn't have a car they wouldn't be moving forward with the interview. What?! For starters, Starlite is an incredibly small company, whose social media severely lacks), secondly you're a "major large scale" company fifteen minutes outside of center city and you've never seen someone take an uber before?! The entire experience is laughable now, but at the time it was insulting.
