I applied online. I interviewed at Steel River Marketing
Interview
There were 3 rounds of interviews for me. What should have been the first red flag was that the company was very hard to reach, they contacted me once and I had to call them back a good 4-5 times before someone answered the phone. The first interview was over the phone and they asked me to come into their office for a second interview with one of the managers. He was very well spoken and did a very good job and making me and another prospect believe that this was a legitimate marketing position... After looking online I saw other reviews of this company being a scam and initially, I didn't want to believe it since the manager made the position seem so promising. For the third interview, I came in a little more skeptical and my suspicions were confirmed when I was interviewed by someone who was pretty transparent with the job. He broke down the 3 levels and basically described what was essentially a pyramid scheme with enough loopholes so the company can avoid accountability and say that they are not a pyramid scheme. After that, I realized all the other people online warning young college students to stay away were all correct. I got out of there as fast as possible and never looked back. The only positive thing I can think of is the people were very nice, the receptionist was cute, and the office was clean.
