After reading the reviews of the company I was excited to apply for this position. The recruiter reached out within a day of me applying and the first email was asking what my compensation requirement was to determine if they would interview me. I have not had a recruiter ask this as the first communication before, but I shrugged it off and moved past it. I exchanged emails and set a phone interview with the hiring manager. She did not call and I had to follow up with the recruiter. In the email exchange he asked for my salary expectations twice more and claimed he did not see my email to confirm the appointment. He then suggested availability over the next three days to which I replied twice that I am available. Still no call from the hiring manager or follow ups from the recruiter once I disclosed my salary target. If my expectation is not within the range for this position, then an explanation needs to be given instead of ghosting a candidate. Recruiters are the first impression for a company. This recruiter left a sour taste for me and I will not be pursuing any opportunity from Stericycle in the future.

Question 1
First email asks for salary expectations to determine if you are a candidate. I suggest putting this on the application form instead.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Stericycle (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2018
Interview
The recruiter was very professional and approached me on LinkedIn. He was very flexible with his schedule and even called me after hours. We discussed the position and he was extremely thoughtful about making sure the position fit my needs. We discussed my compensation expectations and it was determined that the position would not meet my salary needs. It was very nice that we discussed my compensation needs and appreciate the time the recruiter took with me to get to know me. I would definitely recommend Stericycle and appreciate the professional approach my recruiter had and the time he took to get to know me.
