I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sterling Group (Columbia, SC) in Mar 2018
Interview
The interview process was very exciting. Of course I was nervous at first but the Regional Manager was really nice and made the situation comfortable. I was told some history about the property when we first started talking. I had already heard so many great things from the start so I pretty much knew that I had made a great decision!
Thank you so much for sharing your interview and onboarding experience with us. The interview process is intimidating for some. Your feedback will help make this process for future Sterling employees much easier. At the same time, it will give them the confidence to know they made the right choice with Sterling. Thank you for helping us tell our story!

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sterling Group (Charlotte, NC) in July 2021
Interview
I was contacted by an outside source and arranged an interview time. I met with the team on that preset time & the overall interview that day went well I thought! We went through everything & all my questions were answered. It seemed like a great fit on both ends to the tune of even the property manager at that time confidently telling me that they’d “be in touch shortly” & thought I was a “great candidate for the roll” I was excited as it was a great fit. After about 3 days post interview I reached out to the outside source that had initiated the interview to check in on my status. I was told they didn’t have an update but will be getting back to me soon. The following week I was called by a new property manager at the same location I interviewed at & same thing- seemed like I was a great fit and they were a great fit for me. After about 2 days post that phone interview I reached back out to new property manager & asked for a status update as this was kind of being dragged on by this point. I was told verbatim “I will reach out to you no later than Monday” Monday and that week came and didn’t hear anything. That was my final reach because I have other offers- but I was pretty excited about this particular one. All in all I was pretty disappointed by the lack of organization and courtesy of ones time. Seems like I was being lead on and maybe it wasn’t intentional it was just an overall unprofessional taste they left with me. After so many “we will be with you shortly’s” it became evident that I was reaching with this one.
