I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Storyblocks (Arlington, VA) in Oct 2019
Interview
The interview process took place in three rounds. The first round was a phone screen with HR. Typical interview questions. Very friendly and cordial conversation.
The second round was an in-person interview at the office with the VP of Sales. We chatted for a long time. It was an authentic, comfortable conversation. Once he had asked me a few questions about myself, he shared more about the role, the industry segment I would be prospecting, and the challenges I would face. Storyblocks values transparency and honest communication, and I thought my interviewers lived up to that value in the process.
The final round of the interview was somewhat intense. I did a homework assignment over the weekend relating the type of work I would do in the SDR role. Then I came in for a half-day at the office and chatted with different members of the team. In the final round of questions, I was asked to improve and revise parts of my homework assignment in real-time.
After that, I went out to lunch with a few people from around the office. This was a really helpful part of the process for me as it allowed me to ask more questions about the role and get a better understanding of the larger Storyblocks culture.
Storyblocks is a welcoming, respectful environment. I thought the interview process was efficient, fair, and rewarding. Storyblocks expects candidates to have done extensive research on the company and the stock media industry prior to the interview. I appreciate that they clearly want to hire the right person for the role. I think this ranks as both the most thorough and the most positive interview process I have ever participated in.
