I was required to complete a design test before having any conversation with the team. The assignment was very extensive, including multiple deliverables (logo, direct mail piece, web banner, and digital ad) for what appeared to be a real client campaign.
The scope felt disproportionate for an initial step in the process and took several hours to complete. There was also no clarification that the work was purely hypothetical or that it would not be used, which raised concerns about how candidate work is handled.
Against my better judgement, I did the assignment. After submitting my test, I received no response from the recruiter I had initially corresponded with or the hiring team. I followed up multiple times and even had an internal referral, but never heard back. My submission link was never even opened, indicating the work may not have been reviewed at all.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and dismissive of my time and effort. I would recommend that future candidates do not complete this assignment or participate in this predatory hiring process.
The interviewers asked a lot about my experience, tools I used, any mistakes, and the future goals I was working towards and what I wanted out of my career. Very easy going
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Stream Companies (Pittsburgh, PA) in Mar 2021
