We use the Predictive Index behavioural assessment because we’ve found it genuinely helpful in understanding working styles and team fit, especially for a small team and for our first dedicated marketing hire - though we appreciate it won’t suit everyone.
The presentation task was intended as a high-level case to understand thought process and approach, not to obtain unpaid work. We apply the same assessment to all candidates to keep the process fair and consistent. Candidates are of course free to decide what processes they wish to take part in, just as we’re responsible for selecting the approach that helps us hire well.
Since concluding the search, we’ve hired a candidate who is an excellent fit for the role and team, which reinforces our confidence in the process. That said, we do take candidate-experience feedback seriously and will keep refining how we run future searches.
