I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Subway (Melbourne) in May 2022
Interview
Interview process only involved about knowing your availability and visa type.Subway stores all over Melbourne suffers from shortage of employees. And most of the subway franchises are owned by Indian migrants who pay less for the international students but demand more work throughout the day and expect you to be on weekends too.A workplace environment depends on the manager and shift supervisor and wherein mine were the worst and toxic to the core .
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How many days can you work?. Can you work during the day? . I expect you to work on Mondays and Wednesdays, could you do that?. And if it's okay with you, can you come down to the store to help your team members on weekends sacrificing your time for the benefit of all, that's team player quality and shall I hope that you could do that?. We function as a team and help each other out . If you want to work here, we can start your training tomorrow..
I interviewed at Subway (Barnsley, South West England, England)
Interview
I was sat down and asked questions about myself in a possible manner in the middle of the restaurant as people dined around me. I was then instructed to cut bread so they could see how well I could do.
Easy flow, face to face and they are quite patient with you. The manager are understanding if it's your first time and let you through the flow of the process
Very simple and straightforward. Normal questions like availability, have you worked in food service before, etc. I think it depends on location though since friends at other locations have had more substantive or less substantive interviews.
