I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SurePayroll (Chicago, IL) in June 2020
Interview
Applied online and was contacted for a phone screen. I scheduled a day for the phone call and then the HR person cancelled at the last minute and asked me to re-schedule. I do so, and finally talked with them. The call was very short and even though it was a "Software Engineer I" role he said that the job description wasn't accurate and they were looking for someone with more experience. He also asked if I had C# experience and the job description did not mention this at all. This company needs to be more up front about what they expect and are looking for and not waste people's time.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at SurePayroll (Saint Petersburg, FL) in Mar 2019
Interview
A company with an extensive interview process involving a 1-2 hour phone screen and 3-4 hour on-site interview. Code samples are required. Expect to be asked for concepts and algorithms learned in college (linked lists, tree structures) *multiple* times by various executives within the organization over the course of approximately 3 hours.
Although longer than a normal screen, the initial phone screen seems positive and is not as extensive as the on-site interview. Pay attention or you will be blindsided / worn down by the barrage of technical questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Core concepts of object orientated programming
- SOLID principles
- Design patterns
- Linked list, Binary and Non-Binary Tree Structures / Algorithms
- REST architectures
