I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sureway Construction Management
Interview
Initial interview was on site. They asked me questions related to previous experience and also related to technical skills. Then they sent an technical assessment. I personally do not prefer to take this assessment. The reason is they will not provide any feedback to you. I always believe that if someone spent 6 hours for me then its my duty ethically to give them 6 minutes of feedback. Everyone's time is important. Honestly, they do not respect your time. Manager was really rude. If you ask for feedback then you will not get any response from them.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sureway Construction Management (Edmonton, AB) in Jan 2017
Interview
I met with the foreman and two people from HR, I was given a drug and alcohol test and they checked my drivers abstract. Given a start date on a Thursday I was to come in on Wednesday for orientation and TDG training. I disclosed I have PTSD and the start date was delayed until I could prove I was not too dangerous to work,(something that would take weeks). I was sent with a letter indicating I would be handling explosives, (strange lube trucks they run).
In short do not disclose anything that they might discriminate against. If you are a vet or a former first responder you may want to know this.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
demanded a psych assessment to prove I was fit to work. (at my expense).
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Sureway Construction Management (Sherwood Park, AB) in Sept 2013
Interview
Good company to work for, usually work 11 hour days at 6-7 days a week. Work day would go by fast because there's always something to do. Learned a lot about the industry and equipment from the foreman there. Very physically demanding work, hard on the body but very cool work.
