      Lead Software Engineer Interview

      8 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Swiggy (Bengaluru) in June 2018

      Interview

Got a call from a recruitment agency for interviewing at Swiggy. They scheduled the interview on the same weekend. They had 4 rounds but the process was painfully slow. Half an hour of interview round followed by 1-2 hours for wait. It was as if the HR kept on forgetting you were there :p

      Lead Software Engineer Interview

      Interview

I recently attended an interview for swiggy. It was a drive on weekend. I must say, this is one of the worst experiences I ever had. We were given a machine coding question(parking lot) to start with. After waiting around almost 4 hours for the next round, the interviewer looks at my code, which was a well working, suggests and optimization and after asking one scaling and ds question, which I answered correctly, its a straight reject. I would rate the interviewer quality as very poor here.

      Lead Software Engineer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Swiggy

      Interview

The process was straightforward with one telephonic round post which I was informed that there will be 4 more rounds. Though a whole day was requested by HR and she had scheduled for 4 remote rounds, after two rounds, there was no information whether there would be any further rounds or not. So, it was like, wait and if you get a call, interview starts else not. Moreover, there was a designated design round in which even after 50 minutes, it was not clear what exactly did the interviewer expected as an answer. He kept on insisting provide the design to which I asked what part of it do you want, do you want DB/schema, or flow or the system components to which the reply was, what do you mean by design. So, I guess either I was not smart enough to get him or he was not able to make the requirements clear.

The questions were related to DS, design, and architecture. Disclosing them here is not suitable as per me.
